Built in 1847 for Bethlem Hospital according to the design of Sydney Smirke, their architect and named after their benefactor. A number of similar terraces stood in Southwark near Bethlem Hospital.The Wainfleet and District Heritage Society plaque fixed to the wall of one of the houses
