.Alford’s Christmas Spectacular took place on the 30th on November on a clear, crisp day. The event celebrated the switching on of the town’s new Christmas lights and featured stalls, a hog roast, roast chestnuts, children’s rides, street entertainers, live music and entertainment on stage compared by Lincs FM. Santa arrived in Alford in a beautiful sleigh pulled by a steam engine. He paraded along West Street and down Hamilton Road before arriving in the market place where he saw around 200 children in his grotto.
Well done to Alford Town Promotions, a new group of volunteers formed to bring a Christmas event back into the town centre. The event was an unqualified success and we can’t wait to see what happens next year.
